What our guidance is (and isn't)
GuideAxis offers independent, education-led guidance for common home and small-office tasks. We explain safe, repeatable actions so you stay in control at all times.
Scope: educational notes and how-to steps only. We do not operate your device for you.
What falls inside our scope, and what doesn't
The line between "educational guidance can help" and "this needs a repair or manufacturer channel" isn't always obvious from the symptom alone, so here's how we typically draw it.
Inside our scope
- A printer showing "offline" or not appearing during Wi-Fi setup
- Faded, streaky, or blank print output caused by settings or a clogged nozzle
- Scan-to-email or scan-to-PDF not reaching the right destination
- A stuck print queue or a driver that needs reinstalling
- General setup guidance for a newly purchased device
Outside our scope
- A printer with a confirmed broken part — cracked casing, failed motor, damaged roller
- Warranty claims or manufacturer-authorised repairs
- Configuring business-critical network infrastructure under strict administrative policy
- Anything requiring physical disassembly of the device
- Emergency situations where a device failure has immediate safety implications
If a lesson reveals your issue actually falls in the right-hand column, we'll say so directly rather than continuing with steps that won't help.
No remote access or repairs
We do not request or accept remote control of computers, printers, scanners, routers or networks. We do not provide hardware repair, warranty processing or manufacturer servicing. If we suspect a hardware fault or warranty case, we'll explain why education is unsuitable and suggest appropriate next steps.
Independent & brand-neutral
We are not affiliated with any device or software manufacturer. Any brand or product names appear only to help you recognise on-screen options (for example, common Windows/macOS dialogues).
Non-affiliation: GuideAxis is operated by Connecgen Global LLP, an independent entity not sponsored, endorsed or authorised by any manufacturer.
Accuracy, updates & differences
We aim for accuracy and clarity. Operating systems and device software change frequently; steps may vary by model, version or local policies. If something doesn't match your screen, please pause and ask us to clarify before you continue.
In practice, the parts of a guide most likely to drift out of date are exact menu names and click paths — the underlying logic (why a step works) tends to stay accurate far longer than the specific wording of a settings screen. If a step doesn't match what you see, that's usually a sign an interface has been updated since the guide was last reviewed, not that the guide's approach is wrong. Tell us and we'll take another look.
Safe use is your responsibility
- Confirm you have permission to make changes on the device/network you are using.
- Keep recent backups and ensure you can undo a change if required.
- Stop if any step is unclear or conflicts with your organisation's policies.
Our notes suggest simple, reversible actions and a small proof step (for example, a test print/scan) to confirm progress.
Not for emergencies or critical infrastructure
Our materials are not intended for emergency scenarios or business-critical infrastructure. Environments with strict administrative controls or compliance requirements may need assistance from your administrator or provider.

Liability
We provide guidance with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for issues caused by factors outside our control, such as hardware faults, ISP/router restrictions, or administrative policies. Nothing here excludes or limits liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your statutory rights remain unaffected. See our Terms & Conditions for details.
This page is intended to comply with UK consumer law and Indian contract law. If any clause is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the remainder still applies.
In plain terms, "your statutory rights remain unaffected" means this disclaimer can't be used to remove protections consumer law already gives you — it limits our liability for things genuinely outside our control, not for a failure to act with reasonable care in the first place.
Questions people ask about this disclaimer
What if I follow a guide's steps and something still goes wrong?
Contact us with what happened and we'll help troubleshoot from there. If the guide itself was unclear or inaccurate, that's useful feedback we act on — see our Concerns & Resolution Pathway for the full process.
Are you responsible if I make a mistake following your steps?
We write every guide to be safe and reversible where possible, and flag any step that carries genuine risk before you reach it. Reasonable care on our part doesn't mean every possible outcome is covered — this is why backups and confirming you have permission to make changes, noted above, matter.
How do you decide if something is a hardware fault rather than a fixable setting?
Generally by process of elimination — if the standard connection, driver, and settings checks are all confirmed correct and the symptom persists, or the device shows a specific hardware error code, that's usually the signal. We explain this reasoning rather than just stopping the lesson without saying why.
